The Vertebrate is obtainable from the Tier 1 Safe (costing 5k per safe) with a 5% chance of dropping.
Verterbrate is from the Tier 1 Safe, which only costs 5K, however it only has a 1.25% chance of dropping, which makes it quite hard to get, hence it's valued so high. It has no issues getting other 50K items, like Safari or Expeditioner, both of which are from the same safe and have the same odds.
Supply is widely distributed — no single holder owns enough to register as a hoarder.
