The Amber rim was obtainable in Season 33: "Jurassic" by reaching level 3.
Amber being the L3 reward from the newest season, it has been doing pretty alright. It has no issues getting 250K items with adds, and most commonly goes for 300K items such as Fiasco, Hammerhead or Tuner AC. It may have slightly better demand than some other minimal cosmetics due to it being a very recent item, as well as being an appealing cosmetic to many.
Supply is widely distributed — no single holder owns enough to register as a hoarder.
